week 08

classes were cancelled this week !!!!!!!!

mr. luke would be coming down next week so i took the time to get some stuff done so that i would be able to show him .. atlaest give him an idea of how the overall system would look like although i dont think i would be able to add in much functionality into the system by then !!

also i have a feeling that certain changes would have to be made after the visit so im pretty excited for next week !! atleast i know for sure that any issues we need help about, we could ask mr.luke next week !! yay !

argh.. this final year project is sure getting stressful ! :(

**atleast its the final semester ! ;) best thing to just give it ur best and get it over with ! :D

MID SEMESTER BREAK!

the mid semester break just passed and as i guessed before it was really not a break at all !! :(

i had to take a day or two off this week for some family functions and so i have to work double during the days before that in order to get more done!! anyways, i have already done up the design and the basic buttons and the elements that need to go into the system..

i also searched around for some sound effects that i would need for the buttons etc..

i guess things are going smoothly.. i hope i wouldnt face one big problem anytime during the project because we really dont have anyone to help us out on the technical aspect :( which really sucks! :(

week 07

nothing much happened this week actually ..

we were supposed to have the VU visits but it was cancelled due to unavoidable circumstances...

i spent this week doing up the progress reports.. since i have already written the blog, all i had to do was just check up with the blog and write up the progress reports...

i guess thats the convenience of blogging?? :) haha.

we have mid semester break next week but this time its so not going to be a break AT ALL !! i would have to really get down to doing my project .. i lost alot of time at the beginning because my proposal took a long time to get accepted.. :(

anyways, nothing to panic about .. should be done on time .. ! *fingers crossed*

week 06

oh no... this week again my chance to show my concept demo and the story board was postponed because we only have one hour of classes and it was taken up by others to show their work :(

anyways, ms jeya asked us to come see her next week .. atleast i have all my work done now since i was expecting it last week anyway! and this week i have made the changes and re done the story board. so i guess i'll just leave that aside and wait to show her next week ! :D

week 05

we were supposed to have our concept demo this week but it was postponed .. anyways, i have done most of it and needed to meet ms jeya regarding some of the other stuff that needed to be cleared out.

another lecturer suggested to me that i should do the project in two different languages. however, i figured that if i was implementing this system for the university, it should be in English alone? im a bit confused about this so far.. need to get that cleared out..

i wanted to get it over and done with regarding the concept demo.. but atleast now i have more time to sort things out and make the necessary changes!! woohoo ..

i usually dont like postponed work because that ends up in me being lazy .. haha! but this time i have so much of workload on my head and i probably have no time to laze around anyways !

alright, gonna get back to doing some work now ! :)

4th week

This week we were supposed to show a draft story board. However, I was unable to do this because my proposal wasn’t accepted. Therefore, I didn’t attend the lesson either because I’m eagerly waiting for the title to be approved first !!

Apart from that, the rest of the class also haven’t proceed much on the system side of the project yet. Since this subject is focusing solely on the system side mainly, I assume there would be much more to write in this blog as time passes.

It’s still very confusing that the system of the project is carried out by one subject and the proposal is done on another subject. Hmm. We are getting used to it anyway!

first three weeks

its been three weeks into the semester so far.. unfortunately none of us have started much on the final year project itself because we got the feedback from VU just last week. everything was so confusing initially because the final year project is split up into two units! (yes, very confusing) and the proposal is considered as an assignment in the DVD AND SCRIPT DEVELOPMENT subject. i still don't quite understand how it works but at least i have figured it out for now!

my proposal had some confusion and questions in the feedback i received so i made necessary changes and resubmitted it again last week itself along with a back up proposal. just in case. the main title i did was a courseware to teach my mother tongue. the back up was a Aedes Awareness system for a KIOSK.

hmm. i just hope to receive a feedback as soon as possible so that i wont be too far behind with the others. we are supposed to show a story board tomorrow but i am just doing a brief sketch for both because i don't know which one would be accepted anyway!!

argh. i'm stressed out ! :(
